Ile Wa Foundation

The Ile Wa Foundation is a charity based in Nigeria started by London architectural designer Samson Famusan, Ile Wa translates to ‘Our Home’. His vision and its ethos are to develop self-contained orphanages in rural communities. Designed to create an environment for individuals to feel safe and explore their potential in a purpose-built complex that is filled with love, compassion and creates a nurturing warmth of home while preparing children to be thriving members of the local society.

First meeting Samson while studying at Norwich University of the Arts in the East of England, Kat was excited to be invited to create the logo and branding for Ile Wa and jumped at the opportunity to be part of a charitable project.

After a few meetings discussing the origins, ethos and aims for Ile Wa, Kat started developing their visual language from the ground up. Working with limited visuals and basing the design around the charities ultimate goals the logo and visuals became a representation of the pillars that the charity stands for.
